FotoWare: one home for the Gallery's images
Bringing the Gallery's collection images into one managed library, connected to EMu and the website.
Problem
Collection images were spread across EMu, the website's own image library and network drives. There was no single source of truth and no consistent quality or copyright check before publication.
What I did
Since 2024 I've led delivery of the Gallery's FotoWare system: integrations with EMu and the website, staged migration, staff training and team-by-team rollout. I'm building a reconciliation in SharePoint and Power BI that tracks every image across the old and new systems.
Result
FotoWare now holds more than 46,000 collection images representing nearly 35,000 works, about 70% of the collection, and nearly all are linked to their EMu record. The website integration went live in October 2026. Once rollout is complete, every image the Gallery publishes will pass through FotoWare for quality and copyright checks.
